The Word This Week – 7th March 2021

Dear Friends in the Northwest,

This Sunday is the third Sunday in Lent, with another three weeks to the start of Holy Week. As we look forward to that very holy and special time in the Christian year and wonder whether or not services may be possible, I ask you to hold the leaders of our country and their advisers in prayer. Whilst it would be wonderful for us to be able to meet for such a significant festival, it is important that this only happens if it is safe to do so, and our leaders have had and continue to have difficult decisions and judgments to make.

After the many things that I included in last week’s newsletter, this week is much quieter. I did forget to say last week that Saturday 6th March is this year’s Diocesan Synod, so it will be over by the time most of you read this. However, please do offer a prayer for Bishop Mark, the senior clergy, the diocesan officers and staff in all that they do on our behalf.

I do hope that you have had the opportunity to enjoy some sunshine this week and the signs of Spring that are becoming ever more evident.

With love and prayers,

Rev’d Clare
